GeoIP Location extension allows Magento store owners to see online visitors’ and customers’ IP addresses geographical location to get real-time information about your online visitors and to protect a store from fraudulent orders. Extended IP address information is available for the ‘Order View’ page and ‘Online Customers’ grid.

The extension is based on MaxMind Geolocation Technology and uses MaxMind GeoIP database to lookup the information.

Sometimes paymemt gateway will give you partial ip you have look yourself if order is valid or not , time and errors.. With geo ip location its all there ip country proviince or state , city and postal code in some cases. You know where exactly your client place order so you can relate to shipping and credit card default registered address less fraud = healthier business!! Thanks mageworx you saved me time and $!
